4 Ways to Listen! Find Out Which Work for Anxiety Relief!
Welcome to this podcast episode of Get Real with The English Sisters where we talk about how to listen effectively.  Are you listening? There are four types of listening:
1. Cosmetic Listening – pretending to listen. You are looking at someone and you may be nodding and making noises as if you are listening.

2. Conversational listening is the most common where both parties talk and listen. However often you aren’t really listening that much but waiting to say your piece.

3. Active Listening.  Active Listening is where the listener is using more effort to listen and to process information than speaking themselves. The listener may paraphrase and repeat the information to the person talking. Active listening is often used between good friends or in therapy.

4. Deep Listening Deep Listening is the final category. The best coaches are often described as being ‘kind of telepathic’ because of their ability to listen to and to understand another person. At this level of listening you are listening so deeply and observing the person with eye contact and noticing all the body language and what the person is saying.
